We know that many trans and non-binary people worry about accessing services for fear of experiencing discrimination or even hostility on the grounds of their gender identity, trans status or sexual orientation. LGBT Foundation's Pride in Practice programme works with GP practices, dental surgeries, pharmacies and optometrists to ensure that all LGBT people have access to inclusive healthcare that understands and meets the needs of our communities.

Pride in Practice is an accreditation scheme run by LGBT Foundation, which aims to ensure that healthcare services in Greater Manchester understand issues affecting LGBT people. Practices can be awarded either a gold, silver, or bronze award based on how successful they are at supporting LGBT patients.

You can find out more about Pride in Practice by visiting LGBT Foundation's website here. You can find your local practice's rating by emailing pip@lgbt.foundation. Pride in Practice can also help if you have a complaint about a GP practice, and offer advice and support.
